Frequently Asked Questions

Can this black metal outdoor wall sconce withstand heavy rain? +

Yes, this outdoor sconce features an IP65 waterproof rating and a sealed metal housing designed to endure rain, sleet, and dust storms. Its weather-resistant black powder coat prevents rust, chipping, and corrosion across demanding exterior environments. While fully protected against wet conditions, installing it under a covered porch or eave can help further prolong its long-term aesthetic finish.

Which size of this rustic wall light is best for my garage or front door? +

The 12.2-inch (31 cm) size works best for single-entry doors or narrow hallways, while the 15.4-inch (39 cm) and 16.5-inch (42 cm) fixtures provide proper proportion when flanking double garage doors or wide front porches. Choosing a larger fixture ensures it remains visible from the street without getting dwarfed by broad exterior walls. As a general rule for curb appeal, the wall light should measure approximately one-fourth to one-third the total height of your exterior door frame.

Does the integrated LED in this outdoor sconce provide enough light for entryway security? +

Yes, the built-in warm white LED emits a bright, wide-angle illumination that effectively covers stairs, keyholes, and driveways to deter intruders and improve nighttime navigation. The warm color temperature creates a welcoming atmosphere without casting the harsh, clinical glare typical of daylight security floodlights. Because the energy-saving LED module is integrated directly into the fixture, you will never have to climb a ladder to replace burnt-out bulbs.

Can this heavy metal wall lantern be safely mounted on brick or exterior siding? +

Yes, it can be securely mounted to brick, stucco, wood, or vinyl siding using a standard hardwired junction box and the included heavy-duty mounting crossbar. Because the larger versions weigh between 6 kg and 7 kg (13 to 15.4 lbs), the bracket must be anchored firmly to the wall studs or masonry rather than supported purely by lightweight trim. Sealing the perimeter of the backplate with a bead of exterior silicone caulk after wiring prevents rain from seeping behind the electrical box.

Can this integrated LED outdoor wall sconce be used with a smart switch or dusk-to-dawn sensor? +

Yes, this hardwired outdoor sconce operates reliably with standard hardwired external photocell sensors, smart timers, and compatible home automation wall switches. Because the fixture relies on a solid-state integrated LED driver on a standard 110–220V circuit, it turns on and off instantly when power is supplied by an automated external controller. The sensor or smart switch is not built inside the metal housing and must be wired in separately along your electrical line.
